What we collect, and why
| Information | Why we use it | Lawful basis |
|---|---|---|
| Website enquiries. The name, business, website, phone and email you enter in our form. | To reply to you, design your free homepage mockup and talk to you about our service. | Steps you've asked us to take before a contract, and our legitimate interests. |
| Business contact details used in our outreach. The business name, the director's first name, and the business email address and phone number published on your website or Companies House. | To contact businesses individually about improving their website, including a mockup we've designed for them. | Legitimate interests (business-to-business marketing). We only email limited companies and LLPs, and every email lets you opt out. |
| Mockup page activity. When a concept page we made for your business is viewed or its buttons are tapped, and the country it was viewed from. | To know whether you've seen your mockup, so we follow up at a sensible time or not at all. | Legitimate interests. We don't use cookies for this or build profiles of individuals. |
| "I'm interested" requests. The phone number you confirm. | To call you back, as you asked. | Steps you've asked us to take before a contract. |
| Customer and billing details. For clients: contact details, plan, invoices and payment records. Card and bank details are handled by Stripe and are never seen or stored by us. | To provide the service, take payments and keep accounts. | Contract and legal obligation (accounting records). |
| Emails and messages you send us. | To reply and keep a record of our conversation. | Legitimate interests and contract. |
Who we share it with
We don't sell personal information. We use these service providers, who process it on our behalf:
- Cloudflare: website hosting and our database
- Google Workspace: our email
- Resend: sending website notifications and automatic replies
- Stripe: payments and invoices, for clients only
Some of these providers may process data outside the UK. When they do, it's covered by the safeguards required by UK data protection law, such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or adequacy regulations.
How long we keep it
- Outreach and enquiry details: up to 24 months after our last contact, unless you become a client. If you ask us not to contact you again, we keep only your business email address on a do-not-contact list, so we can respect that.
- Client and billing records: 6 years after the end of the tax year they relate to, as UK accounting rules require.
- Mockup page activity: up to 24 months.
Your rights
You can ask us to give you a copy of your information, correct it, delete it, restrict how we use it, or stop using it, including objecting to any marketing at any time. Just reply "no thanks" to any email, or contact [email protected]. We'll respond within one month.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk. We'd appreciate the chance to put it right first.
Cookies
Our website doesn't use advertising or tracking cookies. Our sign-in system for staff, which visitors never see, uses strictly necessary cookies.
Websites we build for clients
On websites we build and host for clients, the client is responsible for the enquiries their site receives (they're the controller). We act as their processor under the terms of our agreement.
